The R-31 CB is the largest of the trailerable Ranger Tugs, making me ideal for extended cruising while offering ample space for day guests. The tall vantage
and additional entertaining area added with the inclusion of the Command Bridge, brings an entirely new perspective to cruising. I am equipped with electronic controls at both the upper and lower helm stations and the spacious bridge has a table and room to seat six. The command bridge also retracts to allow for trailering. I come with bow and stern thrusters for ease of handling. The foredeck features seating and a table that can be raised for entertaining and lowered while underway. My generous cockpit also features wraparound seating utilizing hidden seats that fold out of the gunwale. My interior layout features two staterooms - one large island berth forward with en-suite head and a midship berth with day head. A starboard side door provides easy access from the lower helm to the side decks for line handling.
Gipp refers to me as an "adventure" boat. I have room to sleep 4-6 people but it is very cozy. Instead, I have room for an agile couple and their provisions for an extended trip. I have everything they need to live in comfort. My galley is small but more than adequate. I could us a freezer but I have enough refrigerator space for 7-10 days of provisions. I have a fully functional stove, oven, and microwave for those who love to cook. Not Rock and Gipp though.
Gipp loves the fact that I am fully equipped with state of the art electronics. Two Garmin chart plotters, auto pilot, radio, radar, and sonar gives Gipp all the data and functionality he needs to take me on the Great Loop. I still hold many secrets that he is still learning about.
My V-berth and forward head may be small but I have all the comforts of home. Rock and Gipp have been calling my V-berth the "Lounge" since I have very little interior relaxation space. They often retreat here to nap, read, and watch TV. With the fancy bed topper, I am also a very comfortable sleeping area. Gipp likes to say that my forward air conditioner can get cold enough to make snow! Great on those hot summer days and nights. Now that Gipp has figured out I that I can also provide heat through the same unit, those cold mornings are much more comfortable.
My all inclusive forward head is a bit small but Gipp loves to use my shower. It is tight but I have a great water heater and pressure. When a water source is available, long showers are possible. When water is conserved, I can go 3-4 days with showers for everyone.
Rock and Gipp use my guest room for long term storage and provisions. They even removed the sleeping pad for more room. Thye refer to this room as the "Cave". The day head in the Cave has never been used. I guess in an emergency, a couple of small people could sleep here.
